Kent Clubs Tournament

Kent Clubs Tournament

On Sunday 14th November Beacons Netball Club took 5 squads to the Kent Clubs Tournament held at Alyesford Rugby Club. After the round consisting of 7 matches 4 out of the 5 squads made it into the top 4 in the group to make it through into the Cup competition.

The U12 squads both faced very tough competition and both sadly lost there semi final matches finishing a proud 3rd and 4rd in their age group. In the U14 age group unfortunaley Beacons A faced Beacons B in the semi final. It was an intense and exciting game which was extremely close throughout. At full time Beacons A won 8-7. Resulting in Beacons B finishing 3rd in their age group. Beacons A went on the face CFX in the finals. It was exhilerating final with crowds of girls, parents and coaches watching the game.

Having lost to CFX in the earlier rounds the Beacons girls were determined to up their game and prove they were the better team. As soon as the game started sharp shooter Hannah Skevington put us in the lead by 1 goal which meant the whole team were confident of our ability. The defence worked extremely hard to repeatly turn over the ball and centre court ensured the ball got safely into the hands of our shooters. The final score was 8-6 to Beacons! The perfect end to a fantastic day. The winning squad consisted of Captain, Millie Eden, Vice Captain, Louise Murray-McNieve, Chantelle Akpan, Hannah Skevington, Emily Rees, Olivia Porter, Amy Grant and Anna Foley! Well done girls, you were outstanding!

Tracey Neville visits Beacons NC

On Sunday 21st March 2010 Beacons NC were honored to be visited by Ex-England netball captain Tracey Neville. Tracey came all the way down from Leeds to run a master class for the girls at the club. It was a great success and both the players and coaches got loads out of the day.
